Keylab Essential 49 not showing in MIDI control surfaces in Logic X

When the device is added, the automatic setup or scan procedure sets the appropriate MIDI input and output port settings for the device. Module field: Shows the internal control surface support module being used by the control surface. If your control surface device is internally supported by a module that was developed for a different device than the module and model names, the module and name fields will reflect the internally supported device, rather than the attached device.

Version field: Shows the firmware version for control surfaces which report that information. For control surface devices that do not present this information to Logic Pro, the field is blank. Color field: Click to choose a color from the color picker to indicate tracks controlled by this control surface.

In the Tracks area and Mixer, tracks controlled by this device are marked by a bar in the chosen color when control surface bars are displayed. For more information on control surface bars, see View control surface bars in the Logic Pro Mixer.

Fader Bank Offset field: Sets the offset for the faders of the control surface device. Usually, when a device is added to a control surface group, the device is added to the right of the other devices in the group, and its device icon is placed to the right of existing device icons. The new addition to the control surface group is assigned a fader bank offset based on how many faders are present in the other devices to the left of the new device.

For example, if there are two control surface devices, each with 8 faders, to the left of the new device, the new device is assigned a Fader Bank Offset of By changing this parameter manually, you can choose specific banks of faders to control specific channel strips in the Logic Pro Mixer. As an example, Mackie C4 with 8 faders creates a control surface group with a Mackie Control, also with 8 faders.

See Overview of Control Surface Group parameters to learn more about control surface groups. Usually, when a grid-oriented loop-triggering hardware device such as the Novation Launchpad is added to an existing control surface group, the new device is added to the right of existing devices, its icon is added to the right of the existing device icons, and the new device is given a scene offset based on the number of scenes can be controlled by loop-triggering devices before the new device in the group.

For example, if a Launchpad is added to an existing control surface group consisting of a Launchpad Pro and Launchpad Mini both of which can control 8 scenes each, the new Launchpad is assigned a Live Loops Scene Offset of Note: When multiple Launchpads are added to a control surface, the Live Loops Scene Offset determines which scenes they control, but all the devices will control channel strips in the Logic Pro Mixer.

Model field: Shows the model name of the control surface.
